What problem does CrowdMe.One solve?
Websites can recognise a browser over time through cookies, local storage, browser settings, screen size, installed fonts, graphics capabilities and other fingerprinting signals.
Clearing cookies does not necessarily remove this browser identity. A VPN changes your IP address, but it does not change your browser.
CrowdMe.One gives you a standardised, disposable browser environment. Nothing from a previous CrowdMe.One session is carried into the next one.
The goal is simple: do not let websites build a persistent browser identity.

Privacy-focused browser
Reduces tracking by blocking or limiting cookies, scripts and browser APIs.
It still runs on your normal device and may keep a recognisable browser environment over time.
VPN
Hides your home IP from websites and protects traffic between your device and the VPN server.
A VPN does not remove cookies or browser fingerprints. The VPN operator remains part of the trust model.
Anonymous network
Routes traffic through multiple relays so that no single relay should know both who the user is and which destination is being visited.
It improves network anonymity, but does not automatically remove account identity, user behaviour or every browser fingerprinting signal.
Amnesic operating system
An amnesic operating system is started separately from your normal operating system and is designed to forget the session when the computer is shut down or restarted.
It can provide a fresh browser, route traffic through Tor and keep websites separated from the user's normal operating system.
The user controls the hardware and does not need to trust a remote browser operator. The trade-off is that the user must prepare the operating system and restart the computer to use it.
Disposable remote browser
CrowdMe.One creates a fresh remote computer for the user and destroys it after the session ends.
Websites communicate with the CrowdMe.One computer rather than directly with the user's own device. Browser traffic is routed through Tor.
No special operating system, installation or restart is required. The trade-off is that the user must trust CrowdMe.One as the operator of the temporary browser environment.
Trust model
Privacy tools differ not only in what they protect, but also in who must be trusted.
CrowdMe.One is not merely a relay in the middle of an end-to-end HTTPS connection. The browser itself runs on CrowdMe.One infrastructure. This places CrowdMe.One inside the trusted computing boundary of the browsing session.

Convenience
Stronger local control often requires more setup. CrowdMe.One is designed to make disposable browsing available without installing or restarting anything.

What about traffic analysis?
Encryption hides the contents of network traffic, but it does not automatically hide its shape.
Packet sizes, timing, direction, bursts and pauses may allow an observer to compare traffic entering and leaving a service.
A VPN provides limited protection against an observer able to watch both sides of the VPN server.
Anonymous networks distribute trust across relays and make correlation harder, but do not guarantee protection against an observer with sufficiently broad network visibility.
An amnesic operating system using Tor receives Tor's network protections directly from the user's own device.
CrowdMe.One also routes browser traffic through Tor. This improves network separation, but the CrowdMe.One operator controls the browser session and sees the connection entering the Tor network. CrowdMe.One therefore has a different trust model from using Tor directly on your own device.
HTTPS and CrowdMe.One
HTTPS creates an encrypted connection between a website and the browser. With an ordinary browser, a VPN, Tor Browser or an amnesic operating system, that connection terminates on the user's own computer.
With CrowdMe.One, the browser runs inside a temporary computer operated by CrowdMe.One. The HTTPS connection therefore terminates inside that CrowdMe.One computer, not on the user's local device.
This means CrowdMe.One could theoretically inspect the same page contents, form data, account information and other browser data that are visible inside the remote session, even though traffic leaving CrowdMe.One is protected by HTTPS and routed through Tor.
CrowdMe.One does not claim to be unable to see browser contents. Users must trust CrowdMe.One not to inspect or record them. This is the principal trust-model difference between CrowdMe.One and running Tor Browser or an amnesic operating system locally.

- Downloaded information may still be unsafe after leaving the session.
- Tor does not guarantee protection against every global observer.
- CrowdMe.One cannot make actions performed inside accounts anonymous.
When should I use CrowdMe.One?
Use CrowdMe.One when you want to browse without carrying cookies, local storage, browser history or the same persistent browser environment from an earlier session.
It is useful for research, sensitive searches, opening unfamiliar websites, separating browsing activities, reducing persistent advertising profiles and protecting your own device from browser-based content.
An amnesic operating system may be a better choice when you want local control and do not want to trust a remote browser operator. CrowdMe.One may be a better choice when you want a disposable environment without preparing boot media, installing software or restarting your computer.
For stronger anonymity, avoid logging into personal accounts, entering identifying information, reusing usernames, or downloading documents that may contain identifying metadata.
